At Duell Training Associates<\/strong>, I don\u2019t just help people stay safe at work \u2014 I often have an impact on their lives at home too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While it\u2019s my job to teach health and safety courses, I also advise people on what other training might benefit them. It\u2019s not just \u201canother day in the office\u201d to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Teaching people health and safety often lowers their barriers. I\u2019ve found that after the course ends<\/strong>, many people approach me to ask personal or family-related questions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I can think of plenty of occasions during First Aid<\/strong>, Food Safety<\/strong>, or Moving and Handling of People<\/strong> training where these conversations have happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some of these chats can be fun (to say the least!). There are plenty of myths and misconceptions<\/strong> when it comes to first aid and health and safety \u2014 and I do my best to share the correct information where I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of my favourite examples is when a learner recently asked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShould you keep eggs in the fridge?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n What followed was a brilliant conversation about supermarkets, taste differences, TV chefs, porous shells<\/strong> \u2014 and finally, the real reason<\/strong> they asked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhere\u2019s the best place to store eggs, Ray?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Training isn\u2019t just about regulations and tick boxes \u2014 it\u2019s about connecting with people and making real information easy to understand and use<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I want to use this blog to share anecdotes<\/strong> and educate everyone<\/strong> about first aid and health and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Not just to give you value \u2014 but to keep learning myself<\/strong>.
